Initial Inspection & Damage Assessment
After a storm, our certified inspectors perform a free, no-obligation inspection of your roof and property.
We look for:
- Hail or wind damage to shingles, vents, flashings, and soft metals
- Signs of leaks or compromised decking
- Damage to gutters, siding, and other exterior components
You’ll receive photo documentation and a professional summary of our findings. If damage appears significant, we’ll guide you on whether it’s appropriate to file a claim.
Filing the Insurance Claim
If damage meets your policy’s threshold, we’ll help you file your claim with your insurance provider.
You’ll simply call your carrier and report storm-related roof damage. Once a claim is created, your insurance company will assign a claim number and adjuster to your case.
We’ll request a copy of your claim summary or adjuster’s scope of loss once it’s issued, so we can verify accuracy and completeness.
Adjuster Meeting
Your insurance adjuster will schedule an on-site inspection.
A 3 Nails Roofing representative will be present to meet with them, walk the roof, and ensure all storm-related damage is properly documented.
We’ll review code-required materials (like drip edge, underlayment, decking, and ventilation) and ensure nothing necessary for a complete replacement is overlooked.
Our goal is simple — make sure your claim fully covers what’s required to restore your roof to pre-storm condition or better.
Reviewing the Insurance Estimate
Once your insurance company provides their estimate (scope of loss), we’ll review it line by line with you.
We’ll:
- Verify all code-required items are included
- Identify any missed items (supplements)
- Ensure quantities, measurements, and pricing align with Xactimate standards
If something was missed — like drip edge, flashing, or decking replacement — we’ll prepare a supplement request with documentation and code references to submit to your carrier.
Project Planning & Material Selection
Once your claim is approved, we’ll help you select:
- Shingle style and color (including Class 3 or Class 4 impact-resistant upgrades)
- Accessory colors for vents, flashing, and drip edge
- Any elective upgrades beyond what insurance covered
We’ll schedule your build date, confirm materials, and handle all permitting where required.
You’ll also receive a clear breakdown of any out-of-pocket items (deductible, upgrades, or non-covered items).
Roof Replacement
Our experienced crews complete most residential re-roofs in one day, weather permitting.
During installation, we:
- Protect your landscaping, A/C units, and driveways
- Remove all old materials and inspect decking for hidden damage
- Install the full roofing system per code and manufacturer specs
- Perform a final magnetic sweep and cleanup
You’ll have a dedicated project manager on-site to oversee quality and answer questions throughout the process.
Final Inspection & Documentation
Once your roof is complete, we’ll perform a final walkthrough and provide:
- Before-and-after photos
- A signed Certificate of Completion
- Warranty registration information
- Any supplemental documentation required by your insurance company
This ensures your carrier can release the final (depreciation) payment and close the claim.
